So, what is our goal concerning the Quran? I asked my teenage students the other day and they said it was to understand it.
Nope. It’s to act upon it.
Here’s a short (but eye-opening) article by Shaikh Saalih Al-Fawzan on the goal of the Quran: Goal Concerning the Quran
It’s interesting to note how he proves his point by using the following two ayaat
“Verily, those who recite the Book of Allah, and establish salaah, and spend (in charity) out of what We have provided for them, secretly and openly, hope for a (sure) trade gain that will never perish. That He may pay them their wages in full, and give them (even) more, out of His Grace. Verily! He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Ready to appreciate (good deeds and to recompense).” [Surah Faatir (35) :29-30]
